Perfluoroelastomers for the Semiconductor Industry

 

Integrated circuits are in all sorts of devices, from the toaster that made your breakfast this morning to the computer or smartphone that’s allowing you to read these words.

 

These circuits need to operate in clean environments, and are produced using processes that involve elevated temperatures and exotic chemicals.

 

This is why seals made from perfluoroelastomers have become more common in the semiconductor industry due to their high temperature capabilities and lower contamination and chemical resistance when compared to other elastomers.
