ConFlat (CF) Fixed Bored Flanges are a circular shape fitting used in vacuum systems. Unlike blank flanges, bored flanges are designed to connect various fittings (elbows, tees, crosses, etc.) together. ConFlat fixed bored flanges perform best in ultra high vacuum environments ranging from 760 torr (103 mbar) to < 1 x 10-13 Torr (< 1.3 x 10-13 mbar). Additionally, ConFlat flanges have a temperature range of -196° C (-321° F) up to 450° C (842° F). Fixed bored flanges are manufactured from 304 stainless steel, but can be ordered in other materials. The seal mechanism employs a knife-edge design. This machined feature, located beneath the planar surface of the flange, creates an annular groove on each side of a deformable metallic gasket when the flange pair is bolted together. All ConFlat fixed bored flanges come in tapped and clearance bolt hole orientation.
